Overview

An endurance sport, Triathlon brings together Running, Cycling and Swimming. The Triathlon joined the Olympic programme at the Sydney 2000 Games with a single event for men and another for women.

Since then, British triathlon has gone from strength to strength, largely driven by the trailblazing brothers Jonny and Alistair Brownlee. This continued at Tokyo 2020 with a new generation of triathlon superstars taking centre stage alongside the evergreen Jonny Brownlee.

Great Britain's triathlon team had an outstanding performance at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with Alex Yee winning gold to become the most decorated Olympic triathlete with four medals, and Georgia Taylor-Brown becoming the most decorated Olympic female triathlete with three medals.
